Dr. Nemeth has written several book chapters, including one on the history of psychotherapy in the United States, another on anger management for children, and a third on pediatric medical psychology (see Section IX).  Dr. Nemeth and her colleagues, Kelly P. Ray, Ph.D., and Maydel M. Schexnayder, M.S., have co-authored a book, Helping Your Angry Child, New Harbinger Publications, March 2003; she has recently co-edited a book on environmental trauma titled, Living in an Environmentally Traumatized World: Healing Ourselves and Our Planet (2012), and an anthology, titled, Ecopsychology: Advances from the Intersection of Psychology and Environmental Protection (2015). Her most recent book for Elsevier Press titled, Innovative Approaches to Individual and Community Resilience: From Theory to Practice was published in July 2017 was awarded the PROSE Award in February 2018. 
 
          Dr. Nemeth has been a pioneer in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology for over 30 years, and was the first in Louisiana to establish a private practice Neuropsychology Laboratory in 1977.  She also established the first Neuropsychology Laboratory at the Louisiana State University Student Mental Health Service in Baton Rouge.  After serving as Vice-Chair of the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (LSBEP), Dr. Nemeth was instrumental in the movement to have Clinical Neuropsychology recognized as a specialty area in the State of Louisiana.  Dr. Nemeth also successfully negotiated a contract between APA’s Division 40 (Clinical Neuropsychology) and the Louisiana State University Libraries to have all Division 40 materials archived in the Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collection.  Dr. Nemeth served a 6 year term (1997-2003) as Archivist on APA’s Division 40 Executive Committee.  At its 106th Annual Convention, Dr. Nemeth was elected to Fellowship status, making her the first Clinical Neuropsychologist from the State of Louisiana to have been elected as a Division 40 Fellow.  At that time, of the more than 4500 Division 40 members, including 108 Fellows, only 11 Fellows were women.

           On 7/24/1999, Dr. Nemeth was a member of the first Post-Doctoral Master of Science’s graduating class in Clinical Psychopharmacology in the United States, receiving her degree (M.S.C.P.) from the California School of Professional Psychology. On December 26, 2007, Dr. Nemeth was awarded the title of Medical Psychologist, from LSBEP, with accompanying prescriptive authority.  Most recently, this authority was transferred to LSBME.  Dr. Nemeth chaired a 116th Convention APA Symposium on Louisiana’s Story: Impact of Prescription Privileges on Psychological Practice---Louisiana’s Story in August, 2008.

        Dr. Nemeth was affiliated with the Department of Psychology at Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU), where she taught Cognitive Neuroscience and Functional Neuroanatomy (Spring 1999).  Dr. Nemeth taught Introduction to Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake College (Fall 2007 – Spring 2009).  She served as the Director of Neuropsychology at Sage Neurorehabilitation Hospital Outpatient Services for 5 years.

       Dr. Nemeth’s accomplishments in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology have resulted in numerous presentations at the International Neuropsychology Society, National Academy of Neuropsychology, and other professional meetings.  (See section XV of her vita for specific information in this regard).  Her most recent neuropsychological peer-reviewed journal article (2007), published in Applied Neuropsychology, is titled, “Scientific Investigation of Brain-Behavior Relationships using the Halstead-Reitan Battery.” A recent peer-reviewed poster, titled “The Value of Outpatient Neuropsychological Rehabilitation,” was presented at the National Academy of Neuropsychology’s Annual Conference in November 2007, having been previously outlined in a speech at the Louisiana Rehabilitation Association’s Annual Conference in October 2007.  Dr. Nemeth also presented “The Role of the Treating Neuropsychologist in Forensic Cases” at the International Neuropsychological Society’s 38th Annual Meeting in Acapulco, Mexico (February 2010).

         Dr. Nemeth is currently serving as Co-Secretary General for the World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP) and has been a WCP/DPI/NGO Delegate to the United Nations.  Dr. Nemeth has been nationally and internationally recognized for her Hurricane Anniversary Wellness Workshops, which, in cooperation with many government, religious, and professional organizations, were offered to the victims/survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the Summer 2006 and was offered in August, 2015 for the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.  The 2006 workshops were reviewed at APA’s 114th Annual Convention and presented in a training workshop at the WCP 2008 meeting in Beijing, China.  For her efforts on behalf of others, Dr. Nemeth has recently been elected to Fellowship Status in the Division of Group Psychotherapy, and her article on these wellness workshops was published in the International Journal of Group Psychotherapy in 2012.  Dr. Nemeth also participated in a workshop presentation on these important issues at the UN/DPI/NGO meeting in September 2007 in New York City. She is now participating in an International WCP Committee for the development of a world-wide Disaster/Trauma Relief professional certification process.  In August, 2014, Dr. Nemeth gave the Keynote Address at the World Congress for Psychotherapy in Durbin, South Africa, on Leadership at times of environmental crisis. Dr. Nemeth was invited to give the keynote address at the World Congress for Mental Health in Moscow, Russia in October, 2016. Her speech was entitled: “Building Individual and Community Resilience in this Age of Depression and Environmental Trauma.” In November and December 2016, Dr. Nemeth organized Emotional Resiliency Workshops for Adults and Children, respectively, to assist victims of the Great Flood of 2016 deal with the universal stages of recovery from environmental trauma.
 
          At the 62nd Annual Convention of the Louisiana Psychological Association, Dr. Nemeth was recognized as the 2010 recipient of the Louisiana Psychological Association’s Distinguished Psychologist Award.
